The Elmbridge Drama Festival welcomes all drama groups, clubs, schools and universities.  It is a first round competition of the All England Theatre Festival and to enter you must be a group of Non-Professionals and derive no income from professional performance. 

You must enter a one-act play. However, the festival does not just accept published plays, you may also enter un-published works, new plays, devised and improvised pieces as long as they meet the following criteria:

  • Be one act in length

  • The play's running time must be between 20 - 55 minutes.

  • There must be at least two speaking roles in the piece

Why enter a Festival?

 

  • Festivals provide an exciting learning experience.

  • Benefit from helpful, constructive comments from a well qualified, independent adjudicator.

  • Receive feedback  on production, staging, lighting, effects, plays, acting technique, introductory music

  • Opportunity to try new, unusual or less accessible plays.

  • Benefit from PR through local press, radio.
