Adjudicator praises high standard


The 2015 Elmbridge Drama Festival drew to a close on Saturday 7th March with the presentation of awards by the Mayor of

Elmbridge.

Festival adjudicator Frances Glyn, An Associate Member of the Guild of Drama Adjudicators praised the high standard of performance in the competition that included one act drama performances by six groups spread over the three evenings.

Festival Chairman Ian Thomas also commented on how pleasing it was to see three youth and two original plays in the six performances, continuing a developing trend over recent years.

Woking College won the Best Play trophy for their production of an “Underground Lovers” by Jean Tardieu which narrowly beat the Runnymede Drama Group production of “Macbeth 2015”, an abridged version of the full length play.

The award for the best Youth entry also went to Woking College and the full list of award winners is below.

Runnymede Drama Group will represent the festival in the Eastern Area Final of the All England Theatre Festival
